In 1492 a fleet of Spanish galleons discovered the new world shores of “the Dominican republic”, the Spanish and the Tainos people integrated in and peaceful manner and lived beside one another in harmony for hundreds of years. The western coast of Hispaniola (Hiati) had been explored the French who had civilised the area and claimed the land for themselves.
